February Beauty Favourites!

This months favourites seems to be focusing on my new favourite base favourites that I picked up along with a lip liner which is the perfect nude. I've been loving dusky pink nudes and now i've got the perfect lip liner i'm on the hunt for lipstick to match it.
SKINCARE:
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Hydration Power Serum - £22.50 - I got this just after Christmas but only started using it this month. It has such a light consistency and is refreshing on the skin. It packs in the hydration without being heavy and i've been loving into on my dehydrated skin in the evening. (full review).
THE BASE:
Revlon Skinlights Face Illuminator in Bare Light - £11.99 - I dug this concealer out again this month and it really is the perfect golden highlighter. I've mentioned it a lot and this tube is still going strong since you only need a small amount. It's so versatile and i've been using it a lot to add some glow into the skin.
Bourjois Radiance Concealer - £7.99 - This was a new purchase this month and i've been using it under the eyes pretty much everyday. Used under the eyes it brightens really well without feeling heavy on the skin. You only need a small amount and the coverage is really good. (full review).
Bourjois City Radiance Foundation - £9.99 - I've been wearing the concealer with this foundation a lot and the combination of the two works really well. The foundation is lightweight whilst giving a medium coverage. It adds a nice glow to the skin without looking glittery. (full review).
EYES + LIPS:
Revlon Ultimate All In One Mascara - £9.99 - When I first started using this mascara I found it took a long time to define the lashes. Now that i've had it a few weeks it works a lot better; although it still doesn't give a dramatic lash look. I do like it when I want my lashes to look defined and for everyday use. I am enjoying the small brush for grabbing those small lashes. (full review).
Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Eastend Snob - £3.99 - I've been wanting to try this lip liner for a long time and finally found one. It seems to be out of stock everywhere and I can see why as it is the perfect nude pink. It is cool toned and has a purple hue to it. It's matte but doesn't feel drying on the lips. I've been wearing in alone and it wears really well. Now I want to find a lipstick to match so I can wear them together.

So those are this months beauty favourites. I picked up a few new releases this month which i've really been loving. If you have any lipstick that would match Eastend Snob I would love to know. What have been your beauty favourites this month?

Collection Illuminating Eye Primer - Reviewed!

Collection just came out with a load of new primers which got me pretty excited since primers are something I love, and use every time I wear makeup. I was in need of a new eye primer so thought I would try that first.
Collection Illuminating Eye Primer
Collection Illuminating Eye Primer
The packaging is nice and simple but I really like it. I think the new branding Collection are doing is really good and looks more luxe than the price tag. It comes in a squeezy tube which is hygienic and not too much products comes out which helps to give an easy application.
Collection Illuminating Eye Primer
The product looks glowy in the tube but this doesn't really translate onto the lids; instead it just looks clear. It feels light and cooling on the skin which is nice and refreshing. It applies easy and sets without feeling tight on the skin. Powder and cream shadows apply nicely over the top without going patchy or looking uneven.
Collection Illuminating Eye Primer
I did find that it help to keep my shadow in place throughout the day. The colours did look better compared to being applied straight onto the lids. On long days where I was running around a lot I did notice some minor creasing. If you have extremely oily eyelids you may find this to be more noticeable.

I would say it is the most long wearing eye primer i've tried but it feels nice when applied and makes my shadow apply better. I'd say if you have normal skin and want an affordable primer for everyday use I would recommend picking this up. For more dramatic eye looks that I want to look flawless for a long period of time I probably wouldn't reach for this.

I'm definitely interested in trying some of the new face primers after liking this one. Have you tried any of the new Collection primers? What is your favourite eye primer?

February Empties!

I'm doing this months empties a few days early as the box was getting pretty full. I've been having some clear out here and there this month which a few things have made their way into this months empties. As well as I seem to have just come to the end of a lot of products; especially skincare bits.
February Empties!
February Empties!
SHOWER + BATH:
Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash - This is one of my favourite S&G scents. It smells of lime and sugar which is so refreshing in the shower. I've had this a few times and the big bottle lasts a decent amount of time. Repurchase? Yes.
Herbal Essences Naked Volume Shampoo - Another favourite, this has been my favourite shampoo for a little while now. It cleans my oily roots, adds volume but isn't drying on the hair. Repurchase? Yes.
Radox Sleep Easy Bath Soak - I'm not that picky with my bubble bath and tend to just get whatever is on offer. This was pleasant and had a calming scent. It didn't make a huge amount of bubbles but was still relaxing. Repurchase? No.
February Empties!
SKINCARE:
Boots Simply Sensitive Micellar Water - I was wanting to try another micellar water so picked this up. This bottle lasted a decent amount of time and removed makeup well. It didn't irritate the skin either. It was nothing ground braking but still a nice product. Repurchase? No.
Origins Out of Trouble Mask - This mask was a bit of a holy grail product. It's one of the few things that really helps with painful breakouts. It is very effective and although my breakouts aren't as bad I still like having this in stock. Repurchase? Yes.
Botanics All Bright Refreshing Eye Roll On - I love this eye roll ons in the morning as they're really refreshing and cooling. This one felt really nice on the skin and helped to wake up the eyes. Repurchase? Yes.
February Empties!
CREAMS:
Origins Night A Mins Moisturiser - This moisturiser is so nice to use in the evening if your skin needs some hydration. Even with my combination skin this never felt heavy and had a slight oily texture which doesn't feel greasy. You only need a small amount so it lasts a long time as well. Repurchase? Yes.
The Body Shop Moisture Aqua Boost Sorbet - This had a really interesting gel like consistency that feels light and cooling on the skin. It's really nice to use in the morning and sits really well under makeup. Repurchase? Yes.
Superdrug Clearly Youthful Hydrating Serum - This is another gel like product that feels light and cooling on the skin. I used this in the evening mostly mixed in with an oil or on it's own. Both ways it felt lovely on the skin and seemed to hydrate the skin well. Repurchase? Yes.
February Empties!
MAKEUP:
MUA Eye Primer - I had forgotten about this in my collection and thought I best use it up. It is a really nice, basic eye primer that is clear on the skin and really helped to keep my eye shadow in places. I'm not sure if this exact one is available anymore but I would get it again. Repurchase? Yes.
Makeup Revolution Arch and Shape - This is a brow product with a felt tip on one end and a crayon on the other. I found I could get a precise brow look with this but missed having something to brush out the brows. The colour is a little dark for my now hence why i'm getting rid of it. Repurchase? No.
MUA Power Brow Shape and Highlight - Another brow product. This one was a little different as it had a crayon on one end and a highlighter on the other. The highlight was really pretty and creamy however the pencil end kept falling out which seems to be a packaging problem. Repurchase? No.

So those are this months empties. A lot of products that I really enjoy and a few that i'm not going to miss in my collection. Have you used up any of your favourite products this month?

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Hydration Power Serum - Reviewed!

I've been on a big serum kick recently. I love those, gel, liquidy ones that are really hydrating that still feel light on the skin. I use them in the evening or in the day if my skin is feeling extra dehydrated. I had been using some from Superdrug which worked really well but I had heard such good things about this range from Vichy that made me want to test it out.
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Hydration Power Serum
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Hydration Power Serum
The packaging is really nice and feels luxurious. The product comes in a blue glass bottle with a pump which gives an easy application. You get 30ml of products and you only need 1-2 pumps to cover the whole face.
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Hydration Power Serum
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Hydration Power Serum
The serum claims to be lightweight on the skin which is definitely is, as well as hydrating for up to 48 hours leaving the skin looking plumped whilst helping with dehydration. It contains hyaluronic acid in to help add moisture to the skin. When you apply the product onto the skin it feels cooling and my skin feels instantly softer and smooth. It sinks in quickly without feeling tacky on the skin.
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Hydration Power Serum
I think this is one of the serums that would suit so many different skin types as it's light enough for oily skin whilst being hydrating on dry skin. It's perfect for dehydrated skin as it's not greasy or heavy whilst hydrating the skin.

The fact you don't need a lot of product means the bottle will also last a few months. After using it for a couple of weeks my skin definitely hasn't felt dry and I haven't had that many dry patches; even with it being Winter.

It's not the cheapest serum but if your skin is feeling dehydrated and in need of hydration it works really well. Have you tried this serum? What is your favourite Vichy product?

Bourjois City Radiance Foundation - Reviewed!

I mentioned a few times that Bourjois are one of my favourite foundation brands. I love the formulas and they always seem to make my skin look flawless, whilst still being natural. Whenever they bring out a new one I always want to try it. I've been really into radiance products recently so this seemed like the perfect reason to try it.
Bourjois City Radiance Foundation
Bourjois City Radiance Foundation
The packaging is very similar to the Air Matte foundation, however this one comes in a pink tube with silver lettering. The foundation itself contains an SPF 30 and an anti pollution filter. It claims to hydrate and give a fresh and luminous complexion whilst providing a light to medium coverage.
Bourjois City Radiance Foundation
The foundation comes in six shades, all of which lean on the light to medium complexion; once again there is that many shades available for a darker skintone. I went for shde 02 Vanilla as the lightest shade actually looked a little too pale.
Bourjois City Radiance Foundation
The texture is light and creamy. You only need a small amount which I apply onto the skin and blend with a buffering brush. It takes a few minutes to 'set' so you have time to blend to a flawless finish. The coverage starts off light but you can build it up in the areas needed to give more coverage. Even as you layer the foundation it doesn't go cakey or looking heavy. It feels light and comfortable on the skin whilst giving a natural looking glow.
Bourjois City Radiance Foundation
Bourjois City Radiance Foundation
The finish is the foundation is one of the best things about it. It looks so fresh, glowy and natural on the skin whilst covering any imperfection. With it being a radiance foundation I have found that my skin can get a little oily after wearing it for a few hours. If I layer it with primer, powder and even a setting spray i've foundation that the wear time isn't actually that bad.

If you're looking for a light weight foundation that give a natural glow to the skin I would definitely recommend this. I have combination skin and have found that this foundation work really well on my skin. If you have dry or normal skin this would work well, however it might not keep shine under control on very oily skin.

Bourjois City Radiance Foundation retails for £9.99.

Have you tried this new Bourjois foundation? I'm a big fan of all the Bourjois foundation have tried. Do you have a favourite one by them?

Rediscovered Highlighters

I got out of the routine of using highlighters for a while and whilst doing a clear out the other day I found a bunch of my old favourites so since then i've got back into using them again. I forgot how much of a difference a bit of highlighter can make to how healthy and glowy my skin can look.
Rediscovered Highlighters
Rediscovered Highlighters
STICK:
These chunky crayon style highlighters are somewhat of a new form and they make application the easiest. If you're new to highlighting these are great as they tend not to be too shimmery and you can apply straight onto the cheekbones. The first one I got was the No7 Instant Radiance Highlighter which is a lovely champagne colour. It gives more of a sheen rather than glitter on the skin. The Collection Speedy Highlighter is very similar but I little more cool toned. If you want a cheaper option it's a great find.
Rediscovered Highlighters
POWDER:
This was one of my favourite items I picked up whist I was in America last year since it's not available in the UK. It's the L'oreal True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator in Golden which is made up of four golden highlighting shades. Each shade can be worn alone or mixed together to give a lovely sheen to the skin. It applies really nicely and has a nice shimmer to it. If you can find this it's a great product, they also do a liquid version which I would love to try.
Rediscovered Highlighters
LIQUID:
Liquid highlighters might be my favourite type of highlighter as they're so multi-purpose. You can mix them with foundation, where them underneath or use them as a normal highlighter. My favourite is the Revlon Skin Lights Illuminator in Bare Light which is the perfect golden shade that isn't glittery. A more expensive version which is just as nice is the Clarins Instant Light Complexion Perfector in Rose Shimmer which is a champagne colour that is again not glittery.
Rediscovered Highlighters
L-R Clarins, Revlon, L'oreal, Collection, No7
I've come to love a more warm, golden colour highlighter these days as it adds colour and brightness to the skin. I think highlighters come in especially useful in Winter as the skin can look dull easily and any of these can add that glow back. After rediscovering these I want to check out some more to see what is new. What are some of your favourite highlighters?

Revlon Ultimate All In One Mascara - Reviewed!

When I heard that Revlon were discontinuing all their mascara and replacing them with a whole new range I was a bit sceptical. All the new mascara have matching packaging with each version having a different coloured lid. I was definitely curious so ended up picking up one of them whilst on a recent shopping trip.
Revlon Ultimate All In One Mascara
Revlon Ultimate All In One Mascara
The packaging is really nice. It's sleek, compact and slim which make storing it very easy. I like the matte black with the red cap; I do actually like the idea that all the mascara now match and looks like a complete range.
Revlon Ultimate All In One Mascara
Revlon Ultimate All In One Mascara
The All In One mascara claims to give 5 benefits; volume, length, definition, lift and intense colour. The first thing I noticed is the small brush; it's a lot smaller than your normal mascara brush. The best thing about this is that you can get product right into the root of the lash, as well as getting the smaller lashes. Another benefit is you never have too much product on the brush and it never clumps up as you apply it.
Revlon Ultimate All In One Mascara
You can create a few different looks depending on how you like your mascara to look. I have found that you do need to apply a lot of coats to create a full lash look. This does make it good if you are someone who doesn't like a dramatic lash look however it doesn't give a lot of volume. Another way you can use it is almost as a primer for the lash to get some definition then layer another mascara on top which gives a great, false lash look.

I do like this mascara for the fact you can give a lot of definition to the lashes, however I do look my lashes to look dramatic so it won't be my holy grail mascara. It is a great everyday product that doesn't flake throughout the day.

I'm definitely interested in trying some of the other new mascaras in the range. Have you tried any of the new Revlon mascaras?

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer - Reviewed!

So I was excited to pick up the new Bourjois foundation but somehow ended up picking up there new concealer as well. I love it when concealer for the under eye area are light, radiant whilst giving a decent amount of coverage. This one seemed to be just that so that's why I wanted to try it out.
Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer
Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer
The packaging is nice and sleek. It actually is very similar to the Rouge Velvet Lip Laquers Bourjois do which is a bit different but I like it. It's a frosted glass style with a mirrored lid. It has a sponge; lip gloss like applicator which makes it easy to apply the product.
Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer
Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer
The formula of the concealer is light and liquidy without being runny. It claims to be light enhancing whilst concealing any dark circles or imperfections. The light texture makes it feel hydrating on the skin. The consistency is very easy to blend; I apply a small amount and blend out with my ring finger. Once applied my under eye area looks instantly brighter and my eyes appear more awake. It covers any darkness really well without giving a heavy makeup look.
Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer
The concealer comes in 3 shades which isn't the greatest selection; hopefully they will add more shades at a later date. I have the lightest shades which would work well for pale skinned people. It lasts well on the skin and doesn't crease around the eye. It adds radiance to the skin without looking gittery.

If you like a light under eye concealer and adds brightness to the skin i would definitely recommend checking this out. I find I don't need to use a lot of product so I think it would last a decent amount of time. The only downside is the lack of shades but apart from that it's a really great product?

Have you tried this new Bourjois concealer? What are some of your favourite concealers?

January Empties!

This month i've managed to use up a lot of products I love. There's a lot of haircare and even makeup products as well as some skincare favourites for good measure.
January Empties!
January Empties!
HAIRCARE:
Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo - I've been using less dry shampoo but i've still been reaching for this ever other day. I really like the new packaging and the product is still just as great. Repurchase? Yes.
Dove Nouirhsing Oil Care Leave In Conditioner - This product can be a bit of a pain to get hold of these days but if you can find it, it's a really great product. Sprayed on damp hair it gets out any tangles whilst leaving the hair soft and looking healthy. Repurchase? Yes.
Vo5 Give Me Texture Dry Texturising Spray - My hair can look flat very easily so i've been loving spraying this around the roots to give some volume and texture. It doesn't feel crunchy in the hair and brushes out easily. Repurchase? Yes.
January Empties!
BODY CARE:
Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter - I've mentioned before that I somehow ended up with a load of this stuff and i've managed to use up another tub. I like the product but i'm just a bit sick of the scent now. Repurchase? No.
January Empties!
SKINCARE:
Boots Simply Sensitive Hydrating Eye Cream - I've mentioned this before as it's a great, affordable eye cream that is light and hydrates the eye area really well. I've had some dryness on my eyelids recently and this has really helped to get rid of that. Repurchase? Yes.
Nip & Fab Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Facial Pads - I loved this product. These pads are so easy to use and they leave the skin feeling smooth without being harsh. You get 60 pads and I used them every night so they last a decent amount of time. Repurchase? Yes.
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - This cleansing water always seems to last so long and works really well. It removes makeup without irritating the skin. I've bought it a few times and I always go back to it as it is such good value for money. Repurchase? Yes.
January Empties!
MAKEUP:
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara - I really enjoy this mascara. The curved brush adds lots of definition and volume to the lashes giving a dramatic lash look. The only downside is that it seems to dry up pretty quicker. Although saying that I liked it so much I have bought it again. Repurchase? Yes.
L'oreal Lumi Magique Concealer - This is another product I really like. Used under the eyes it covers whilst adding some brightness. It's light and really easy to apply; the packaging is also really nice. I'm trying some other concealers at the moment but I would definitely get this again. Repurchase? Not straight away.
Rimmel Stay Matte Primer - This is my favourite everyday primer. It's a white cream that feels smooth on the skin which helps everything to last longer and keep oil at bay. Repurchase? Yes.

So those are this months empties. I mentioned in my favourites that i'm planning on having a bit of a beauty clear out so some of those products might make their way into next months empties. Have you used up any of your favourite products this month?
