ELF Mineral Lipstick Reviewed!

Today I thought I would do a post about one of my favourite things by ELF, their Mineral Lipsticks! I love them ao much, I have 6 so far and I wear them a lot.
I love the sleek black packaging that makes them look more expensive that they actually are. The formula of these lipsticks are great also, they're very moisturising and last very well on the lips. They also have really good pigmentation. Here some swatches of the colours I have:
Lef to Right:
Nicely Nude - Asheer warm pink with a hint of gold shimmer
Barely Bitten - Deep pink with golden shimmer
Runway Pink - Creamy light pink with silver shimmer
Cool Coral - Golden pink with bronze shimmer
Party Pink - A warm mid toned pink with golden shimmer
Pouty Petal - Sheer cool pink/lilac with gold shimmer

Although they are all described as having 'shimmer' in them they are not shimmery instead they have more of a hint of gold or silver through them. 'Nicely Nude' is a favourite of mine and is a go to everyday lipstick. I will definitely be getting some more colours since they have a good range of darker colours too. I love them and would recommend them to anyone looking for a cheap alternative to a high end lipstick such as one by MAC.

ELF Mineral Lipsticks retail for £3.50 and are available here.

November Glossybox

So this is only my second Glossybox and i'm already in love with the concept of getting samples every month to try out, plus I love getting surprise packages!
The first thing in the box was Arbonne FC5 Cooling Foot Cream - Full Size £19.00 for 118ml
'Moisturising, non greast foot creme hydrates rough, dry skin and soothes, cools and comforts tired feet' This has a peppermint scent to it and is definitely not greasy but didn't see it do anything amazing to my feet. I never would pay £19 for a foot cream unless it had drastic result which so far this doesn't.
Next was Dead Sea Spa Magik Dead Sea Bath Salts Full Size £5.50 for 1kg.
'2011 Beauty Awards winner. Fantastic for alleviating dry skin conditions as well as a natural exofliant, Dead Sea Bath SAlts remarkably improves skin texture' I've never tried bath salts because they always seemed like something my Gran would use! Saying that I love trying out exfoliators so i'm curious if this works as good as it claims to!
Next was Monu Skin Perfector Full Size £16.25 for 50ml
'A weightless cream which instantly smoothes imperfections and enhances natural radiance as it glides onto the skin' This say that it should be used before applying make-up, I tried it this morning and it left my skin smooth and matte. I noticed that my skin was less oily throughout the day as well! This was a full size product and i'm going to keep trying it and might re-purchase it! The only downside so far is that it kind of smells like a gluestick!
Nail Rock Designer Nail Wraps Full Size £6.65
'The new Nail Rock designer nail wraps range is designed to last up to 7 days and 8 weeks on the toes. They won't chip ot stain the nail, require no drying time and deliver on trend style in just 15 minutes.' I've been wanting to try these for a while now so I was very excited to see these in this months box, I always have someone paint on my nails so will be saving these to wear around christmas time. I love the lace pattern of the ones I got.
Finally there was two perfume samples Serge Lutens Full Size £86.00 for 100ml/ £78.00 for 50ml
L'eau Serge Lutens - 'Alasting sensation of wearing a clean scent for men and women'
Virtriol d'Oeilet - 'A new and elegant carnation fragrance for both men and women'
I don't really like these, they smell a bit too 'mature' for me and more like something my Gran would wear, so I definitely won't be buying these especially because of the price!
So that was this months box, all in all I am really happy with it! This box is part 1 of their christmas gift guide of things to try before you buy. I'm really looking forward to next months box since they have something special planned for christmas.
My favourite thing from last months box was the Stilla Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Moray, It's a lovely green colour with gold shimmer and smudges really well. I will definitely be getting some more colours of these! They retail for £11.

NOTD - Leighton Denny 'Sex Kitten'

I got this nail polish in last months Glossybox and I was really excited to try it since i'd never tried any Leighton Denny polishes.
It's a lovely light metalic blue colour and nothing like anything I have in my collection. Over the top of it I put a ELF Nail Polish in 'Sparkle' which is a fine glitter and is very subtle but adds a nice finish. (Although the picture doesn't show it!) The polish applied nicely although it did take 3 coats. I will be checking out some more of these polishes later for sure.

Leighton Denny polishes retail for £11. There are some good gift sets available on feel unique.

ELF Haul

So I ordered some things from ELF the other day because they had free delivery and when you spent £10 you got a free gift worth £10! My Mum wanted to also try out a few things from them too. So this is what I got.

Duo eyeshadow cream in Iced Mocha (£1.50) - I love these cream shadows they are really pigmented and last all day with a primer because on their own they do crease. This duo has a lovely pale lilac colour and a dark brown which is perfect for a smokey eye.
Nail Polish in Mod Mauve (£1.50) - I did a NOTD on this colour which you can find here

Brightening Eye Colour in Day 2 Night (£1.50) - These quads are great value for money, they have such a good colour range and are very pigmented. Here are some swatches.
Onto the free gift! You got a Bamboo Powder Brush from the mineral line which is super soft and doesn't shed at all! This brush normally retails for £5.50 and would definitely recommend picking it up. Also there was 2 £1.50 glitter nail polishes in 'Twinkle' and 'Golden Goddess'. I wouldn't normally buy these but they will be fun to have for christmas time. Finally there was a Shimmer Eyeliner Pencil in the colour 'Boldly Bronzed'. This is a really nice, pigmented brown and doesn't have lots of shimmer in it which I like so it could be used for everyday.
ELF products are available online here.

NOTD - ELF Mod Mauve

I ordered a few things from ELF the other day since they had free delivery when you spend £10 and a mystery free gift worth £10! Such a good deal! (Haul to come this week).
I really like ELF's nail polishes because they have a really good colour range and last really well on the nails. Oh and they're only £1.50 each! This colour really caught my eye, it's a burnt plum/pink colour with a brown undertone. It's absolutely gorgeous and a perfect colour for Autumn/Winter. One thing I will say about ordering off ELF is that the swatches on the website aren't always true to life but all the colour i've tried so far have been lovely.

ELF products are available online here.

Mini MAC Haul

I don't own a lot of things from MAC due to them being a bit out of my budget, now that i've started University i've had more of a chance to treat myself so I decided to pick up a few things that i've had my eye on for a while.
Desert Rose - £17
Firstly I got one of their blushes in 'Desert Rose' it's a lovely burnt pink sort of colour and is completely matte which I like, it seems to last really well on my skin all day which isn't always the case for me since I have oily skin.
Rubenesque Paint Pot - £13.50
I already have the 'Bare Study' Paint Pot and I love it so much, I wear it pretty much everyday! 'Rubenesque' is a golden bronze colour and would be great worn on it's own with a matte brown in the crease, perfect for those days when you don't how that much time to get ready! I love the Paint Pot's so much since they don't crease all day and the colour doesn't fade!
Cremesheen Lipstick in Creme Cup - £13.50
Finally i've been wanting to try a MAC lipstick for a long time so I decided to pick up 'Creme Cup' after hearing some good things about it. It's described as a light blue pink and wears really well on the lips. It can be a little drying so for me it does need a lip balm underneath but then again my lips are always fairly dry this time of year. I'll definitely be picking up some more colours since this one is really pigmented which isn't always the case with some drugstore lipsticks i've tried.
Swatches!
Creme Cup, Rubenesque, Desert Rose

All in all i'm very happy with my purchases, I also got a small free sample of the MAC Zoom Lash which I do like so far and might purchase after i've used up some of the mascaras I need to use up!

MAC cosmetics are available online here.

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS!

On Monday 14th November 2011 at Manchester MEN Arena I finally got to see my favourite band, it was a long time waiting but definitely worth it! Beware this may be a very picture heavy post because whenever I try to talk about it I get pretty speachless! Firstly I could get over how good seats we had, we were sat in block 114 row E seats 19 & 20, we were pratically sat on the floor, here's a picture :)
The support act was a band called Fool's Gold who I really like, i've been listening to their new album a lot lately. They were really easy to watch and got the whole crowd dancing.
Josh (guitarist for RHCP) even came on to play a song with them which was really good, I got a few pictures of it but this one is my favourite. Everly (Anthony's son) was even sat at the side of the stage dancing along to the music which was so cute!
Josh is on the far left

We had to wait about half an hour for them to get the stage ready for RHCP which was alright since we were seated. Their set was amazing, the sound was incredible you could hear everything perfectly. They played a good mix of new and old songs. Basically it was one of the best nights of my life and the best gig I have ever been to! Here's the setlist and some of mt favourite pictures :)
Setlist: 1,Monarchy of Roses. 2, Dani California. 3,Charlie. 4,Look Around. 5,Otherside. 6,If You Have To Ask. 7,Can't Stop. 8,The Adventures of Raindance Maggie. 9,Blood Sugar Sex Magik. 10,Me & My Friends. 11,Factory of Faith. 12,Under The Bridge. 13,Higher Ground. 14,Californication. 15,By The Way. ENCORE. 16,Chad & Mauro Jam. 17,Sir Psycho Sexy. 18,They're Red Hot. 19,Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere (Neil Young Cover) 20,Give It Away.

I took a lot more photos than this (200+ in fact!) so I might post some more another time :)

MUA Heaven and Earth Palette - Worth The Hype?

I have been hearing so much about this palette and how it is a good Urban Decay Naked palette dupe but i've never been able to get my hands on it. My local Superdrug doesn't stock the MUA Pro line and it's been sold out on their website for ages. I finally found it in the Superdrug in Meadowhall which has recently had a makeover and now stocks a lot more brands.
The palette retails at £4 which is an absolute bargain! It is a great palette full of everyday nuetrals, a downside for me is that there are no completely matte shades which is a real shame. All 12 shadows are shimmery, some more than others (the one on the bottom right has the most shimmery).
As you can see all the shadows are well pigmented, there are some lovely golden shades which are great for this time of year. All in all this palette is very good especially for the price. Is it worth the hype? I would say yes although I wouldn't really class it as a Naked Palette dupe due to the fact there is no matte shades (no Naked or Buck dupes). Also I would have liked a dark silver or black to make some more dramatic looks,  but it is definitely worth getting your hands on for everyday wear.

MUA is currently only available at Superdrug and this palette is once again available online!

Top 3 Hair Masks!

I love hair masks so much, they have saved my hair from looking dull and dry on so many occasions, so I thought it would be a good idea to share with you some of my favourites that I have tried.
I picked this up the other week when my hair was really dry and was in desperate need of a treat. After a while of looking at the many products in boots I saw this I thought I had to have just for the price alone! You get 350ml so I think it will last for ages! The day after using this my hair felt soft and looked so healthy I couldn't believe how well it worked! I even use it as a conditioner on the ends of my hair, for the price you seriously can't go wrong. I love this product so much and is great for dry or damaged hair!

I've tried their split ends hair mask and loved it so I thought I would try another one from the range. This one claims to be good for frizzy/dry and damaged hair and you get 200ml a pot. I really enjoyed this mask, it definitely made my hair less try and dull looking and it smells of oranges! The smell alone had me sold! Great product and well worth checking out, I also use this one as a conditioner as well.

I love this so much! This is amazing for coloured hair, I have blonde highlights which means my roots can get very tangled after washing. After using this I never have that problem. I would say that this has helped my colour looking healthy and last longer which is amazing! I also use the colour shampoo from this range and it is the best i've ever tried. You get 250ml and lasts a good amount of time too!

I can't say enough good things about these products, they've all really helped improve my hair when i'm having a bad hair day!

LUSH Ultra Bland Cleanser - Reviewed!

I went into Lush the other week to get some bath bombs for winter and I couldn't resist looking at the many skin care products they have. The lady said that Ultra Bland would be the best cleanser for me since I have oily skin and wanted something to help remove ALL my make-up at night.
It claims to 'gently remove all in its path, leaving skin ultra-soft and ultra smooth.' I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and I can definitely say that it removes everything! My skin has never felt so clean after using this. It doesn't sting when I use it to use even heavy and waterproof eye make-up. It does have oils in it which I thought would be terrible for my oily skin but when you wipe it have with a cotton pad my skin doesn't feel greasy at all!
As I said i've been using this for about 2 weeks and i've barely put a dent in it so I think it is going to last a long time.I do feel like my skin has been clearer since using this and would definitely recommend for anyone who wants a good cleansers that removes every bit of make-up. I would give it 5/5.

It retails for £6.45 for 45g for and £10.25 for 100g and is available at LUSH online and in stores.

Johnson's Daily Essentials Gentle Eye Make-up Removal Pads - Reviewed!

I bought these pads when they were on offer at Sainsbury's and I thought I would try them out for using on those lazy days when I can't be bothered to do a full cleanse and just want to get my make-up off as quick as possible!
You get 30 pads in each tub and they are suitable for all skin types. These remove eye make-up really well and very gentle without having to scrub at your delicate eye area which is sometime the case when I use facial wipes. They remove even heavy make-up and waterproof eyeliner. They claim to have skin loving vitamins which condition your eyelashes, I haven't noticed if this is true but then again I don't use these everyday. A great thing about these is there is no oily residue which I have found with some other products, but intsead leave your skin soft and smooth.
All in all I really like these and they work really well without stinging my eyes. I would give these a 4/5 because they're really great and leave my skin feeling really soft and clean.

They retail for £3.15 and are availble at all good stockist.
