March Beauty Favourites!

This month has been one where it seems to have go so quick and i've got nothing done. In fact, I was ill on and off for nearly two weeks which left me very exhausted with little energy to do anything. With that going on I did manage to see one of my favourite bands, go out for a few cocktails and rediscover some old favourites as well as a few new products for good measure.
March Beauty Favourites!

BODYCARE:
Soap & Glory Hand Dream Super Cream - I've used the Hand Food version of this a lot and although I enjoy it I never found to be that amazing. I got this cream in a set and I think it's a lot more effective. It's a thick, almost whipped cream and moisturises the hands well whilst having a pleasant scent which isn't too overpowering.
The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter - This is something i've loved before and just started using a new tub of it this month. It's got a true coconut scent which I love whilst being a thick cream that doesn't feel heavy or greasy on the skin.

SKINCARE:
Garnier Moisture Bomb 3 in 1 Day Cream - I picked this up since I wasn't really enjoying the day cream I was using plus it was on offer. This range is designed for dehydrated skin which mine has definitely been lately. It's a light, gel cream and feels so nice on the skin and leaves it smooth and hydrated without feeling heavy. It also works really well underneath makeup.
Temple Spa In The Beginning Deep Cleansing Balm (review) - I started trying this during March and such a luxurious balm that feels like you're having a spa treatment. I cleanses the skin really well, removes makeup and leaves the skin really soft and clean. It's full of natural ingredients which definitely makes a difference in how well it works.

MAKEUP:
Soap & Glory Peach Party Blush Brick - I bought this and the start of the year and have dug it back out recently for when I was needed a glow and some colour to my skin. It's a light, shimmery blush which you can build up to leave such a nice glow. I use a mix of all the shades which gives a lovely peachy, pink colour.
Smashbox Brow Tech Gloss Stick in Taupe - I got this in a set of brow products and I keep going back to it as I love the way it looks in my brows. I use it mainly to fill in the front part half of my brows. It has a glossy finish so makes your brows look so natural ones they've been filled in. I then use the Kat Von D Tattoo Brow in blonde to get a neat, point to the end of the brows. I find this is easiest to do with a felt tip applicator. The combination of these two together make my brows look defined, neat and natural.

So those are this months beauty favourites. Now that i'm feeling a better I definitely want to have a good shop of my stash and dig out some old favourites; especially makeup ones. What have been some of your favourite beauty products this month?

Temple Spa In The Beginning Deep Cleansing Melt - Reviewed!

Cleansing balms might be one of my favourite skincare products to try. They feel so luxurious to use and almost as if you're having a spa treatment at home. This is the first Temple Spa product i've tried and definitely will be wanting to try more of their products after loving this.
Temple Spa In The Beginning Deep Cleansing Melt

The packaging is simple and fits the brand well. It's a pot that comes with a small spectacular which helps with the application of the product as well as keeping it hygienic. The ingredients in this balm are very good as well as it being paraben free. It contains a mixture of olive, basil and lavender oil which gives it a pleasant, natural scent.

The balm itself is yellow and your classic balm texture. It's thick and starts to melt as it warms up on the skin. It contains beads that help to exfoliate the skin which don't feel harsh on the skin. Then the balm starts to turn into an oil on the skin. I like to warm it up a little in my fingers first then apply the product to the skin. I massage it into the face and it starts to melt away any dirt on the skin as well as excess makeup. I found it safe to use around the eyes without an irritation as well.

After rinsing away my skin feels so clean, soft and nourished. The oils in the balm help to hydrate the skin which would make it great for dry skin. My skin is combinational and it's been working really well for my skin type. I found it's helped to soften the skin and adding some brightness to my dull, Winter skin.

I've been really impressed by this balm and it's been working really well for my skin. It might be a little too rich if you have oily, acne prone skin but I think if you are dry or dehydrated you would love this.

Temple Spa In The Beginning Deep Cleansing Melt* retails for £28 for 60g and is available at www.templespa.com.

Have you tired this balm? What are some of your favourite Temple Spa products and what should I try next?

The Foundation Rotation

Every now and then I find that i'm reaching for the same foundations. I did a similar post to this last year so I thought it was time to do another one. My skin hasn't been feeling it's best recently so i've been wanting something with a decent coverage that also gives a bit of a glow.
The Foundation Rotation
Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation
Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation - I picked this foundation up when I was in America and I really do love it. It has a serum like texture which blends so easily into the skin. It has an SPF 30 which makes it great to use in the Summer, as well as for the fact it lasts well on the skin. I don't find it goes patchy although my skin has been a touch on the oily side recently but I bit of powder keeps things in place nicely. A great affordable find if you can get your hands on it.
Bourjois Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix Foundation
Bourjois Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix Foundation - I featured this in the last post I did and it's an all time favourite which I bring out when I want something I know will look good. This always covers just the right amount without looking or feeling cakey on the skin. I find this ticks all the boxes; decent wear time, good coverage and gives a nice healthy look to the skin. The shade selection isn't great but if you find a colour that matches you will love it.
Bourjois City Radiance Foundation
Bourjois City Radiance Foundation - This is the newest addition to the Bourjois foundation range and one that i've been liking. It's got a lighter coverage but still evens out the skin nicely. I do get a little oily when I wear this one but it does make the skin look nice, applies easily and looks natural on. This also has an SPF 30 and I think will be something I reach for even more as it starts to get warmer.
The Foundation Rotation
I have a lot of Bourjois foundations as I tend to know that I will like the finish and results they give. I am branching out a trying other makes a lot more, especially after being so impressed with this Covergirl foundation. Do you tend to have a few foundations on rotation or stick to using the same one each day? What is your favourite foundation at the moment?

Neal's Yard Remedies Citrus Hand Softener - Reviewed!

My hands get dry every Winter but this year it seems to have been even worse. I have been slathering on so many creams but this one has been such a stand out. My Mum actually got this in a hand set at Christmas and I may have taken over using it.

The packaging is really love. I love the blue jar that looks really nice on a dressing table or at the side of your bed. The product itself has such a lovely, citrus scent. It's not too overpowering and a natural citrus scent rather than a fake one. The consistency of the cream is thick and creamy. It isn't heavy and is more of a whipped texture.

When I first started applying it I thought it would feel greasy but it's almost the opposite. As you massage it into the hands you can feel it sink into the skin I doesn't leave a residue on the hands. It doesn't give a clammy feeling either so you can easily carry on touch things and using your hands. After being applied my hands felt so much softener and after using it for a few days the dry patches between my fingers had gone and my hands in general felt a lot less dry and moisturised.

I was really surprised how well this works. If you have struggling with dry hands I would definitely recommend giving this a go. I also think it would make a nice gift and the set we have even came with a hand wash and lotion.

Have you tried this? I really want to try some more Neal's Yard body product after loving this so much. Do you have any favourite products by them?

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream - Reviewed!

When I was in America picking up some NYX products was definitely on my list. When I got round to going shopping there wasn't that many colours of the matte lip creams to choose from. When Boots started stocking NYX products online I decided to pick two up and put them to the test.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

Picking shades whilst shopping online is never the easiest task; especially when there's so many shades to choose from. I ended up playing it safe and going for two pink shades. One peachy and one a deeper pink. The packaging is very similar to other matte creams i've tried.I always like when the shades matches the tube which makes picking out the shade you want easy if you have a few different colours.

The first shade I got was Antwerp which in the tube looks like a peachy pink but when you apply it is a lot brighter and even closer to a hot pink. The is the shade i've had the least wear out of as I think it's more of a Summer shade. The other shade San Paulo is a deeper pink which i've really been liking. Again, it is a little bright but I still find this very wearable during the day.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream
L-R Antwerp, San Paulo
The name is very fitting for these. They're creamy which gives an easy application. They're opaque and it doesn't look patchy as you apply it. After about 5 minutes they set more matte which makes them long wearing. They feel comfortable on the lips and last really well. Even after drinking and eating you can still see the colour on the lips. There was some slight fading but nothing overly noticeable.

I've loved this formula from other brands and these are no different. The best thing about these is there is so many shades to choose from. My guess is the darker shades are more long wearing, however I definitely want to pick up some more neutral shades.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream retails for £5.50.

Have you tried these, if so what are your favourite shades? What are some of your favourite NYX products?

The Perfect Nude Lip

My ongoing search for the perfect nudey pink lip seems to be never ending. I have a few that I like yet I always seem to still be on the hunt. I have been doing a new little routine featuring a lip liner I can't get enough of and finally I might have got it down. I still need to find a lipstick that matches the lip liner but we're definitely getting there.
The Perfect Nude Lip
The Perfect Nude Lip
Starting with the lip liner. Rimmel East End Snob was tricky to track down and I forgot about it. On a recent shopping trip they had one left so I finally got it. It really is the perfect pink shade which has nude tones in it. It is also cool toned and looks so good on. Something similar that is more of a baby pink is the Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Crayon in Minimalist. This feels a little more dry on but both feel comfortable with a lip balm underneath or with something layered on top.
The Perfect Nude Lip

Another lip liner which is similar to the Rimmel one is Essence in Satin Mauve. It's more nude and has less of that pink tone that I love. It's still a great lip liner and a flattering colour on. I would highly recommend Essence lip liners in general as they're affordable and really good quality. My favourite product to layer over either of the lip liners is the Revlon Balm Stain in Honey. This is very comfortable on the lip and although a little sheer on without the best wear time. However, when layered over Eastend Snob especially it creates a lovely nude, everyday colour. This combination is such a favourite of mine and the two together are really long wearing. Even through drinking a few too many lattes.
The Perfect Nude Lip
Revlon Honey, Essence Satin Mauve, Rimmel Eastend Snob, Maybelline Minimalist
I have pretty much all four of these in my handbag and have been pairing them together a lot. My next job is to find a lipstick to match Eastend Snob perfectly. I've heard of a couple that do so a trip to Boots with lots of swatching is going to happen this week.

What are your favourite nude lip option? Do you prefer a pink or brown toned nude?

REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial - Reviewed!

I'm a big face mask lover but sometimes I either can be bothered or feel like I don't have the time to wait 20 minutes for it to set. When this came out it really interested me in how it works in only a minute. It actually took me a while to get round to purchasing it but now that I have I thought I should review it.
REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial
REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial
l love the packaging. It's simple white with a mirrored silver detailing. It looks so sleek and really nice when sitting in your bathroom cabinet. It's squeezy tube which makes it easy, and hygienic to dispense the product. The main ingredient is vitamin c which helps to re-energise the skin. You can definitely feel that. Even though you only need to leave it on the skin for a minute the skin does feels more awake.
REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial
REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial
Its gentle enough that you can use it every 3 days to tone and improve the appearance of the skin. It's a gel that has a slightly chunky texture that has a dry feeling on the skin. After it's been on the skin for a minute it feels soft and smooth. The skin also looks brighter and has a glow to it.
REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial
My skin has been looking dull and feeling dry thanks to the cold weather and this really makes a quick difference to the skin. I think this is one of those masks that no matter what skin type you have you will see a difference instantly. I don't think it's a long term fix however if used on a regular basis it definitely improved the appearance and especially the texture of the skin.

REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial retails for £32.00.

It's not the cheapest mask but if you are looking to treat yourself to some new skincare I would definitely recommend this as it is quick, easy and really makes a difference to the skin. Have you tried this mask?
