PRIME:
As an oily skin girl a primer is a must if I want things to last. The one I reach for is the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer. I like a couple of primers but I find this one to be the best for keeping things matte and preping the skin for the base product I am using.
BASE:
The star of this long lasting base is definitely the foundation. I discovered this in June and it's been my go to a lot recently. The L'Oreal Infallible 24HR-Matte Foundation is normally not the type of foundation I would pick up, but unlike other matte foundation this doesn't look dry or patchy on the skin. Instead it gives a high coverage, but still natural looking finish to the skin. The best thing is that it lasts so while and I don't get oily when I wear this. I apply this with a sponge to give the best finish.
CONCEAL:
I tend to always use two different concealers; one for blemish and one for under the eyes. For blemishes i've gone back to the Seventeen Stay Time 18 Hour Concealer which is light yet covers really well without fading or going patchy. Under the eyes I like something brightening, especially when wearing a high coverage base. I'm currently using the L'oreal Lumi Magique Concealer which is so light and really brightens the under eyes.
SET:
To finish things off I do a light dusting of the Seventeen Miracle Matte Pressed Powder which is a great budget option. It's a matte powder yet doesn't look cakey if you don't apply too much. It definitely helps to prolong my base and keep oil at bay.

So that is my long lasting base that i've been reaching for a lot recently. I will definitely be using this routine when I go to America at the end of the month as it will be hot and I won't want to be having to do touch ups during the day. What products are you using when you want a long lasting base?
I've never got along with that powder nonetheless great post

That's a shame, Seventeen do some other powders that are good and you might prefer.
DeleteI've got the stay matte foundation and I don't love it. May try the primer though as I need something to help with oil! I need to try applying the infallible with a sponge.

The CSI Girls
I've tried the Stay Matte foundation on my hand and hated the texture. The primer is completely different and really does work. Infallible is definitely best with a damp sponge!
