The Perfect Primers For Oily Skin

The weather is finally starting to warm up and although this is something i'm very happy about it does mean that my skin has started to get a bit oily again. I discovered the world of primers a few years ago and have tried many at this point; some good, some pretty bad. Today I thought I would share three affordable primers that I think tick the right boxes.
The Perfect Primers For Oily Skin
Max Factor Facefinity All Day Primer
Max Factor Facefinity All Day Primer - £10.99 -Starting with the great all rounder. I prefer a primer to have more of a serum texture rather than silicone feeling as they seem to sit nicely on the skin. The one does that exact thing. It feels light on the skin and applies nicely on top of whatever skincare you are wearing; another thing I look for in a primer. This makes my foundation wear better and apply smoother. The wear time of my base is definitely better when I use this, plus it has the added bonus of having an SPF 20 making it great to use in the warmer weather.
Rimmel Stay Matte Primer
Bourjois Happy Light Matte Serum Primer
Rimmel Stay Matte Primer - £5.99 - This one is definitely my favourite out of the bunch. I noticed the biggest difference in oil control and wear time when I wear this underneath my foundation. It mattifies the skin nicely without feeling dry. I've tried a few Rimmel primers and I like most, however this one is a stand out and for the price you really can't go wrong.
Bourjois Happy Light Matte Serum Primer - £10.99 - If you dislike the feeling of a lot of primers this is the one I would recommend trying as it feels like a serum. It feels like just another step in your skincare routine however in preps the skin nicely and remove any shine. It improves the wear time of my foundation as well which is one of the reason why I reach for it a lot.
The Perfect Primers For Oily Skin
L-R Max Factor, Rimmel, Bourjois
All of these are great primer. I tend to use the Max Factor and Bourjois one when it's cooler and I still need some oil control. However, if it's very hot or i'm wearing my makeup for a long day the Rimmel one is definitely the stand out. What are some of your favourite primers for oily skin?

  1. I might have to pick up that rimmel primer to start to use in the coming warmer months!

  2. Thanks for this. I'm really oily. Have you tried Benefit's Porefessional? It's the best I've found so far. I bought Estée Lauder's matte one recently but don't reckon much to it.
