So as I said I start off by grabbing a cup of my favourite tea and getting myself into bed. I'll scroll through my phone for a while, looking at instagram watching few youtube videos. I try to limit this to around 30 minutes so I can fit in some time to read my book. I find reading a book before I go to sleep really helps me relax.
Before I get into bed I sometimes spritz the Febreze Sleep Serenity Bedroom Mist in Warm Milk and Honey around my room. This has a lovely scent that isn't too overpowering yet makes the room and bedding smell great. If I have a headache or i'm really struggling to 'switch off' I reach for the This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray. This has a lavender and herbal scent that is great if you struggle to get to sleep. If i'm using this it tends to be the last step in my routine.
A must have in my night time routine is still the Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm. I've mentioned this a lot as it is my favourite lip balm to use at night as it is thick and very moisturising. When I use this my lip always feel so soft and hydrated in the morning. After that I apply some hand cream. At the moment i'm making my way through some L'occitane minis that I have as they're a nice size, hydrating but not too greasy.
After i've done that i'll start to read some of my book. I'm currently reading Never Look Away by Linwood Barclay. The story is about a mans wife who goes missing. I've read a few of Linwood Barclay's books and I love the way he builds a story and adds lots of twists that you don't see coming. Whilst I read I like to have some music on in the background. Normally this is something relaxing like Ben Howard or Josh Record.
Once i've read some of my book I tend to feel relaxed and ready to fall asleep. Doing this little routine always helps me to calm down and have a really good nights sleep. Do you have a night time routine that you do before you go to sleep? What are some of your bedside beauty essentials?
