Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation - Reviewed!

I picked this up the other month when it came out and tried it a few times and never got round to writing a review on it as I couldn't decide how I felt about it. I decided to give it another go this week so I could review it, although i'm still some what on the fence about it.

The packaging is fairly unique, it comes in a small glass bottle and doesn't come with a pump. The bottle is smaller than your average foundation bottle, however it is a few pounds cheaper than other drugstore foundation. The shade range is average, I have the 10 Ivory which is the lightest shade; there aren't a great deal of shades for fair or darker skin tones.

As I said the product doesn't come with a pump, instead comes with this 'dropper' which you are meant to apply a small amount on the back of the hand or straight onto the face. I personally don't love the applicator, it can be a bit hard to use. A plus side is that you never get too much product out.

The product itself is very thin so you have to shake to well before applying. The thin texture makes for easy blending, and I tend to apply with fingers then buff out with a brush. The foundation feels very light no matter how much you build it up and definitely feels very silky and pleasant on the skin. It can cling to dry patches, especially around the nose where I needed to blend more. The coverage is definitely light but you can build it up to a more medium coverage. One of the best things about this is that you can keep applying more product without it looking cakey.

Once applied the coverage looks very natural and isn't too shiny or matte. I still set it with powder but you could probably get away without if you don't have oily skin. The wear time is where I come to have some problems with this. I will say that by the end of the day everything is still in place and not looking patchy, however I do still get shiny and noticed I was particularly oily on my t-zone; more so that other foundations. For that reason for me personally the foundation is best on cool days and if i'm not looking for it to look perfect all day. If i'm wearing my base for a shorter period of time and I just want something quick and light I would definitely reach for this.

I'm going to keep trying this with different primers and powders to see if that improves the oil control. I've added it into my rotation but I will still be reaching for my Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude or Bourjois Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix Foundation when I want something to be more longwearing.

Have you tried this new foundation from Maybelline?
