Onto skincare, first being the No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Balm, this reason why this disappointed me was that it's not a balm it's just a cream cleanser and is pretty average as they go. The other is the Superdrug Spot Clearing Gel, this felt alright but did nothing for clearing up blemishes.
Onto face products first being the Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation, i'm really not a huge fan of Rimmel foundations and these one I found to be drying a looked cakey on my skin. Next is the Bourjous Flower Perfection Primer (review), this didn't help my foundation last longer in fact in made my foundation go very patchy! Onto concealers, the first being the Miss Sporty So Clear Conealer, to be honest I don't like stick concealers because I find them drying and this one didn't change my mind on them, it has good coverage but goes patchy on my skin. The next being the ELF Under Eye Concealer and Highlighter, this didn't really cover anything and the highlighter is just a white cream which again didn't do anything.
MUA is a brand that I like but some of their products just didn't do it for me. First being the MUA Every Lash Mascara, I accidentally got the waterproof version of this and it is a pain to remove the other reason I don't rate it is because it does nothing for my lashes at all. The other is the MUA Mosaic Blush in English Rose, this is a raved about product but I found it was too shimmery and when swirled together made on odd shade for my cheeks.
Finally I have some lip products, the first is a Revlon Lip Butter which I love normally but this shade just doesn't work for me. It's the shade Strawberry Shortcake and it's a very pale shade of pink that doesn't work for my skintone. Next is one of my least favourite products out of the lot which is the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Puckers, these are the stickiest lip glosses i've even tried, it's almost lip putting tar on your lips! They also tingle so much which make your lips hurt.
So that's the products I regret buying, I try to research a product before I buy but sometimes no matter how much research you do some products don't work for you.
What products have you tried recently that you regret buying?
strawberry shortcake is my favourite one! it's funny how one thing can work so well for one person and not for another isn't it? xxx
ReplyDeleteIt is funny, I've found berry tones work best for my skin tone :)
DeleteI really dislike Rimmel foundations also. I've had samples of many and they all make me feel thick and cakey with makeup. The worst of them all was the Wake Me Up, which lots of bloggers seem to rave about. It feels like i'm covering my face with grease.
ReplyDeleteI have never even tried a Revlon Lip Butter. I'm not into sheer lipsticks or tinted lip balms.
Soap & Glory's M'Pucker lip glosses, i totally agree. Sticky sticky sticky. I also found they almost hurt my lips too.

The Soap & Glory lip glosses are the worst! You should try the lip butters but get the darker berry shades because they're really nice :)
DeleteI LOVED this post :) Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it :)
DeleteSoap & Glory Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser clogged my pores like no other! I was so bummed because I sooo wanted to like it:(

I don't mind that one! I much prefer balm cleanser at the moment though :)
DeleteI agree with you on the S&G lipglosses. I find the plumping/tingling sensation a bit ott too!

Haha it really is! :)
DeleteTotally agree about the Soap % Glory lip glosses! I regret buying the Garnier spot corrector, made me break out so much! You're right in that sometimes you cannot predict how something'll react with your skin no matter how much you research! x
ReplyDeleteI've not tried the Garnier Spot Corrector, that very true :)
DeleteAw that's a shame Strawberry Shortcake is too pale on your skintone, I bought Cupcake which is blue-based and I don't know if it really suit me ahah x
ReplyDeleteIt just shows that some shade suit some people more than others :)
DeleteI'm really liking the mua every lash, mine's not waterproof as if it was it'd probably drive me nuts trying to take it off, too. It's not really very volumising but I love how it separates and lengthens the lashes, but leaves them looking more natural than the massively volumising ones :)
ReplyDeleteLove these posts, they're so interesting, especially how much it highlights how differently people feel about products which is good for reminding us that however much we see what other people think, it just might not work for us :)
