June Beauty Favourites

Another month done means a new set of monthly favourites! Since we are getting closer to Summer (although the weather doesn't always show this!) I have been going really simple with my make-up so there isn't a ton of new favourites but these products did stand out to me this month.
 Bath/Shower -
  • Dirty Works Bath Soak - I found this whilst in Sainsburys the other day and I love it. It smells really nice and is just a great all round bubble bath.
  • Botanics Softening Body Wash - I got this in a set at Christmas and it has been half used in my cupboard for a while. I decided to use it up and I've really enjoyed it. The smell is lovely like all Botanics products and it lasted really well.
Skincare -
  • Alpha H Liquid Gold - So many people have been talking about this so I took the pludge and got it whilst it was £5 off on Beauty Bay. I will be doing a review on it but so far so good. My skin feels lovely and smooth after using it.
Make-Up, Face -
  • Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation - I did a review on this here. It really has been my go to foundation this month when i've wanted more coverage. It's a great foundation and makes my skin looking glowing but not greasy.
  • Lioele Water Drop BB Cream - Again i've just reviewed this here. I've been wearing it mosst days and it looks so natural whilst giving a nice amount of coverage, such a great product.
 Blush -
  • NYX Blush in Taupe - This is such a good 'sculpting' blush if you are pale, it has definition to the face and will never look orange like some bronzers. Such a great product for simple/lazy day make-up.
  • Sleek Blush in Rose Gold - I blogged about this here. I'm in love with anything rose gold recently and this blush is just lovely. It's a pink/peach shade with golden shimmers through it and looks amazing on the cheeks.
Eyes -
  • MAC Omega Eyeshadow - This is a constant favourite of mine, it's a light brown grey colour and I love using it on the lower lash line for some definition and through my eyebrows.
  • MAC Paint Pot in Painterly - As I said at the start I haven't been wearing much make-up this month especially on the eyes. I've been wearing this on it's own with just some mascara. I love it because it just covers the veins on my eyelids but looks like you have nothing on.
  • Sleek Eau La La Liner in Cocoa - I love this eyeliner, it's soft so easy to use and is waterproof so doesn't budge all day. I've been using it on the upper lash line to make my lashes look fuller.

Lips -
So that's my beauty favourites for this month, I hope you liked it. What were your favourites this month?

Lioele Water Drop BB Cream - Reviewed!

BB Creams seem to be everywhere at the moment and I have tried a good amount. I reviewed a few here if you're interested in the ones i've tried. Although a lot of Western brands are bringing out BB Creams i've been wanting to try the 'original' ones more. Whilst doing some research this one came up.
The Lioele Water Drop BB Cream is a water based BB Cream and is oil free which appealed to me since I have oily skin. It also has an SPF 27 (random figure!) which will be great for the warmer months.
It comes in a squeezy tube which is surprsingly easy to get the right amount of product you need.  I actually like the packaging, there is nothing amazing about it but it does the job.

The actual product is a skin toned colour like a tinted moisturiser but when you apply it to the skin you will see white droplets appear, these disapear as you blend it into the skin. As much as I dislike the saying 'it adapts to your skintone' this really does seem to do that.
Hopefully these pictures will show what I was trying to say!
The thing I love about this BB Cream is how natural it looks. For someone who suffers from acne prone skin finding a product that evens out the redness, gives a medium coverage and looks so natural is amazing! I've found that I don't even need to use that much concealer when wearing this and it actual gives a better finish and coverage than some foundations i've tried. It also feels very moisturising on the skin.

The wear time is also really good with this, I do find that I still get a little oily on my chin and t-zone but to be honest no product seems to stop that from happening. It doesn't go patchy and looks really good throughout the day, I just love it! I actually wore this in London the other day when it was warm and it looked great throughout the whole day and thats with being on trains and the tube, pretty impressive! A problem is that it only comes in one shade, which is medium. I do think this could suit a range of people from the pale to tanned range but that's about it which is a shame since it's such a great product.

This is the best BB Cream I have personally tried so far. The only downside is that it isn't easy to get hold of in the UK. I got my off ebay which is probably the only place you will find it.

I payed £12.58 and it took less than 2 weeks to arrive from Korea which is pretty good and the shipping was free! Here's the link.

Have you tried this BB Cream? What are your thoughts on BB Creams in general?

Sleek Blush in 'Rose Gold' - The Rose Gold Obsession Continues..

I am currently in a full blown Rose Gold obsession, anything that is rose gold I feel like I need to have it. When I heard Sleek did a blush in the colour rose gold I knew it had to be mine, the downside it was always out of stock. I finally found it in my local Superdrug and there was one left, I have since gone back and it is once again out of stock and now the tester has even gone!
Sleek are slowly becoming one of my favourite brands for blushes, you can read about the first shade a tried here. Like I said in that post I love the simple packaging and you get lots of product for your money too.
In the pan the colour looks so beautiful, it is a lovely pinky coral shade with beautiful gold shimmers through it.
Now these pictures really don't give the colour justice because it is an amazing shade and so pigmented which can be very rare to find especially in a drugstore blush.
I think this is my new favourite summer blush, it looks great on it's own but also over the top of cream blushes it adds a lovely glow to the skin.

If you can get your hands on this blush definitely pick it up because it is a great pigmented shade but looks amazing on the skin.

Sleek blushes retail for £4.30 and are available from Superdrug it is also finally available on the Sleek website here!

17 Wild Curls Mascara - Reviewed!

I've been meaning to do this review for a while now but never got round to taking the pictures until now! I'd say i've had this mascara for around 2 months now and it's nearly finished, but this means I can give you a really honest review.
For someone who isn't a huge animal print fan I actually like the packaging, it also stands out in my make-up bag which is great. The mascara claims to give 'wilds curls and holds for up to 10 hours'. Now I have fairly straight lashes and struggle to find mascara that give me a dicent amount of curl. I would say this does help but I wouldn't say it holds the curl for 10 hours.
The brush is a fairly traditional type wand but can get a little clumpy, my lashes are thin so I actually like this but if you don't like your mascara to be on the clumpy side this probably isn't for you.

The mascara is a lovely deep black colour (I got the shade 'Deepest Black')  and makes my lashes look fuller, longer and gives a nice amount of curl. I don't find this flakes at all on me and is very easy to remove. It is also available in Brown and there is a waterproof version.

All in all I really do love this mascara and i'm so glad I randomly decide to try it out. This is the first mascara by 17 i've tried and it is definitely worth checking out. I still haven't found the 'perfect mascara' but this is very close and one of the best i've tried.

As I said at the start I have had this mascara for about 2 months now and it is only now starting to get a little clumpy but isn't showing any signs of trying out which is great. It also wasn't over wet like some mascara's when I first bought it.

I think I will repurchase this eventually but for now there is still a lot more mascara's to try!

17 Wild Curls Mascara retails £6.29 for and is available here.

Have you tried this mascara or any other one's by 17?

My Top 10 Lipsticks!

I never used to be a massive lipstick fan but now I rarely leave the house without one! I always love favourites posts so I thought I a top 10 lipsticks would be fun to do! These aren't in any order.
Sheer Lipsticks -  Revlon Lip Butters

I've mentioned before that I love the Revlon Lip Butters and these are my two favourite shades. Berry Smoothie is a great everyday berry shade which I got so much use out of for those lazy days at Uni in the cold weather. Sweet Tart is a lovely bright pink shade which is perfect for summertime.
L-R 'Sweet Tart' 'Berry Smoothie'

I only have one of the Loreal Caresse Lipsticks but I wear Tempting Lilac so much! It's a love pink/purple toned sheer lipstick. The 17 Mirror Shine lipstick in Belle is looking worse for wear since it is always in my handbag and for me it's the perfect 'my lips but better' shade.
L-R 'Tempting Lilac' 'Belle'
MAC Lipsticks -

Of course I had to include some MAC lipsticks in this post. The first one being Plumful which is a Lustre finish and a beautiful natural plum shade. Then one of MAC's bestselling lipsticks in Creme Cup which is a Cremesheen and a beautiful light pink.
L-R 'Plumful' 'Creme Cup'
Nudes/Pinks -

The ELF Mineral Lipsticks are some of my favourites because they are affordable and great quality. My favourite shade is 'Runway Pink' and is very similar to Creme Cup. The next is a Revlon Matte Lipstick in 'Pink Pout' which is a beautiful pinky purple shade which I have be wearing so much lately.
L-R 'Runway Pink' 'Pink Pout'
 Brights -

I'm a big fan of the Rimmel Kate Moss Lipsticks and this one in shade 16 (wish they had names!) is a lovely coral shade which is very wearable but still bright for summer. Then there is one of the £1.50 ELF Lipsticks which I also love in Gypsy which is a deep plum shade which I wear a lot in the colder months.
L-R 'Shade 16' 'Gypsy'
So thats my top 10 lipsticks as of now, my collection keeps growing so I can see myself adding a few more to this list very soon!

What is your favourite lipstick?

Loreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick in Tempting Lilac -Reviewed!

As a lover of the Relvon Lip Butters when so many people were saying that the Loreal Rouge Caresse Lipsticks even better I knew I had to try one! The colour I got was Tempting Lilac, I thought it would be a great everyday shade.
I personally don't love the packaging, I think the plastic does look a little cheap. However I do like the fact that the tops are coloured for each shade making it easier to find the one you're looking for.
Allthough saying that a bright purple top doesn't really represent the colour that much but it is a nice idea.
Onto the actual product, unlike some of the Revlon Lip Butters there is no glitter in these at all which I do like. They are very 'balmy' on the lips, when I first tried it I think I applied too much becuase it did feel a little greasy. I wouldn't wear a lip balm underneath these because again I think it would make it feel greasy.
The shade Tempting Lilac is truely beautiful, it is the perfect pink/purple shade and looks lovely on the lips. I don't find it lasts long on the lips but it does leave some colour behind when it has worn off. I would say 1-2 hours maximum wear if you're not eating or drinking.

So are they better than the Revlon Lip Butters? For me I do prefer the formula of the Lip Butters but the colour range of the LorealRouge Caresse Lipsticks are more suited for everyday wear. So it is hard to decide between the two! This lipstick has been in my handbag every since I bought it and i've worn it most days because it is so easy to apply and wear which proves to me that it's a great product!

Loreal Caresse Lipsticks retail for £7.99 (same price as the Lip Butters!) and is available here.

Have you tried the Loreal Caresse Lipsticks? What shades would you recommend?

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation - Reviewed!

When this foundation first came out I felt like everyone was talking about it, I was personally put off by the fact that i've not had the best of experiences with Rimmel foundations. I've tried a few in the past and always struggled to find a light enough shade and good wear time.
First off I really do like the packaging, it's a glass bottle with a bright orange lid. The foundation claims to 'to lift skin from fatigue with a healthy, radiant glow!'.
It also comes with a pump which is a must for me since otherwise it is impossible to get the right amount of product and just gets rather messy.
The pump is also bright orange to match the lid. The foundation itself has an SPF 15 which I like, I personally would add my own higher SPF on a warmer day. From the bottle is seems to have slight glitter particles to it which put me off at first but these aren't noticeable on the skin.
As I said above the colour range is very poor. There are 6 shades in totally which really isn't enough. I got the lightest shade 100 Ivory which still isn't a perfect match, however when blended out it is okay. I don't think anyone who is very pale will be able to wear this foundation which is dissapointing, also anyone who has a darker skintone may also suffer.
The foundation itself has a pleasant scent to it and applies like a dream. I've used both my fingers and the Real Techniques Buffing Brush and achieved a lovely finish. It has good coverage, I would say it is medium to buildable but it still feels very light weight on the skin which I love since I hate feeling like I have loads of make-up on. I've found that it even covers most of my acne scars which many foundations don't do.

I would say it gives a fairly matte finish but it also gives a lovely glow to the skin and looks very natural. For me the wear time is also very good, I would say it lasts for about 8 hours before I need to touch up which is very good since I have oily skin. It also doesn't go patchy even on my chin which is the worst area on my face.

All in all this is a very good foundation especially for the drugstore. My main problem is the terrible colour range which is a real shame for such a lovely product. I think this foundation would suit many skin types apart from someone who has extremely oily skin may struggle with it. This is definitely the best foundation i've tried by Rimmel and has restored my faith in them!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation retails for £8.99 and is avialable here.

Have you tried this foundation? Thoughts?

Venturing Into The World Of Sleek Blushes

Whilst browsing the 3 for 2 in Superdrug the other day I was looking for what my third item could be. After finding out that they didn't have the Sleek blush in Rose Gold which always seems to be out of stock! I decided to try the shade 'Suede'.
I really do like the packaging because it is simple and not bigger than it needs to be (if that makes sense!) I feel that they have made sure they can get the most amount of product in. You get 8g which is a lot compared to some blushes.
Onto the colour, it looks to be very much on the brown side in the pan but swatched it has some lovely pink tones in it. I love using it when i'm having a lazy make-up day when I can't be bothered using a bronzer because you can use it to sculpt your face as well as a nice blush to the cheeks.
It is very well pigmented like all Sleek blushes so I use a fluffy brush to make sure I don't apply too much. I was scared that it would look a little orange but it doesn't at all, instead it gives a really natural finish. It lasts really well too, definitely one of the best drugstore blushes I have tried.

As I said at the start I really want to get the shade 'Rose Gold' next but I also I have my eye on the blush by 3 in 'Lace' so if I see either of them when i'm in London they will be mine!

Update! I have since been into Superdrug and got the Rose Gold blush! It was the last one there and it is now mine, so expect a post soon!

Sleek Blushes retail for £4.30 and are available in Superdrug.

LUSH Daddy-O Shampoo - Reviewed!

My hair has been very annoying recently, instead of being more on the greasy side my scalp has been a bit dry. So that's dry and greasy at the same time! Using an E45 Dry Scalp Shampoo has helped with the dryness but I still wasn't happy with my hair so I thought I would try some LUSH products. The lovely lady recommended Daddy-O to me because it does a bit of everything and is great for blondes!
Now Daddy-O is a purple shampoo which is something i've never tried which is a bit of a shock since i've having blonde highlights for the past few years now. Here's what the shampoo claims to do:
The first thing I want to say about this shampoo is that it smells amazing!  To me they smell like those sweets you had as a kid called Parma Violets! The scent also seems to last in your hair for a little while which I personally love. After getting over the  amazing scent the colour of it is very purple!
I only need a small amount to cover my mid length hair which hopefully means this 250g bottle will last a good amount of time.

This leaves my hair feeling and looking super clean and healthy and after a few uses I did notice that my highlights looked brighter. I really am a purple shampoo convert, anything that means I don't have to go to the hairdressers as often is a winner for me.

I really would recommend this shampoo to any blondes, natural or coloured because I think it really does make my hair look and feel a lot nicer. I like to think because it is a natural product that it is doing good things to my hair because it's not full of rubbish!

LUSH Daddy-O starts from £4.75 for 100g and is available here.

Have you tried this? Or any other purple shamppo's?

Benefit Dupe!?

So today I thought I would do a post on a product which is being raved about at the moment and has been rumoured to be a Benefit dupe! The product is the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze (or Bad To The Bronze for you American's!) and it is rumoured to be a dupe for the Benefit Creaseless Cream in Birthday Suit which I reviewed here. I love Birthday Suit so was exicted to hear there might be a dupe for it.
Now they both have simliar packaging, glass jar with a plastic lid. The benefit one does have a lovely swallow design on it but they are pretty similar.
Lets talk about formula now, the Maybelline one I find you have to warm it up with your finger a little where as the Benefit one is a lot more creamy which I personally prefer and find a little easier to apply.
I find both last equally well on the lid on their own without creasing. They also work great as a good base for an eye look, especially something like a smokey eye but also look beautfiful on their own.

Now to the swatches!
Now they are not exact dupes, the Maybelline Colour Tattoo is a lot more bronze (hence the name!) compared to the Benefit Creaseless Cream. However they both have this shimmer/sheen to them. They are both applied lightly here showing how pigmented they both are.

So it isn't an exact dupe but if you're on a budget the Maybelline Colour Tattoo's are great and a cheaper option compared to Benefit or MAC. I do prefer the Benefit Creaseless Cream because they are so creamy and work best on me.

Maybelline Colour Tattoos retail for £4.99 and are available here.
Benefit Creaseless Creams retail for £14.00 and are available here.

Have you tried either of these?

Collection 2000 Shimmer Shades -Reviewed!

Today's review I have for you is the Collection 2000 (or just Collection now?) Shimmer Shade in Blushalicious. First off I think it's a pretty weak name in my opinion but after hearing rave reviews about it I though I would give it a try.
First off the packagining isn't amazing, but it does feel sturdy and as long as the product itself is secure and isn't going to break when in my make-up bag i'm happy.
As you can see you get 4 different shades. I have seen a few products similar to this where each shade is pretty similar where as with this I was very happy to see that each shade is different. There's a light pink, a purple toned pink, a bright pink and a lovely coral shades which is probably my favourite.
They are a little chalky but are well pigmented, each shades looks lovely on the cheeks and adds a nice natural glow without looking shimmery or flat. For the price you really can't go wrong as you're pretty much getting 5 blushes (you can mix all the shades together!) for the price of one.

Collection 2000 Shimmer Shades retail for £4.19 and are available here.

Have you tried this?
