I really am a sucker for nice packaging and Laura Mercier never fail to impress on that front, simple brown plastic with silver lettering. The compact does feel a lot sturdier than cheaper version.
When swatched the powder does look very white but when blended into the skin it doesn't look like you are wearing powder at all. The product is so finely milled that is disappears onto the skin whilst still controlling oil throughout the day and keeping my make-up in place. I've found that it definitely helps prolong the longevity of my face make-up and feels so light on the skin like i'm not wearing powder.
It is not the cheapest of powders out there but i've been so impressed with it I seriously would consider repurchasing it. I've been using it everyday since the start of September I have hit pan on it but there is still lots of product left.
Laura Mercier Pressed Setting Powder retails for £24.50.
What is your favourite setting powder?
It looks cool :) I heard Oprah Winfrey uses that, so the translucent is really universal! I always use my MAC msf, might check this out next time I run out xx
ReplyDeleteWow I never knew that! I've never tried a MAC msf but want to, I would recommend you tried this because it is so lovely :)
Deletei'm a cheapie & just use rimmel powder, lol i find it's the only thing that works well as a setting powder. mac studio fix powder is also good but i use that more as a foundation.

Hmmm...seems impressive. I like the packaging and based on your review even though it has a white color it blends well with the skin color without noticing that you have powder on. I'll check this one out...
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the review :)

I have pretty oily skin and use Rimmel stay matte! I prefer higher end powders though so may have to try this!! :) x
ReplyDeleteThe Rimmel one is great for oily skin, I definitely think you would like this one :)
DeleteIs this a specific shade or just a universal one which works in all skin tones (like MUFE HD powder)? Great review!
ReplyDeleteI'm tempted to get this because it looks lovely, but would you say it was worth splashing out on it when the highstreet ones are pretty good? I'm using Rimmel stay matte at the moment, but I've been looking at occasionally investing in some higher end products :) xx
